Theme: The Science of Service, the Heart of Humanity
Good [morning/afternoon], SayPro colleagues, partners, and friends,
Today is Valentine’s Day — a day to celebrate love, connection, and the relationships that bring meaning to our lives. And while some might not expect a Chief Research Officer to speak about love, I believe that what we do in research is deeply connected to it.
At its core, research is an act of love — love for truth, for understanding, and for people. It’s about asking questions not just to gather data, but to better serve, better uplift, and better empower those we work for and with.
Here at SayPro, love lives in how we collect our insights — with integrity, curiosity, and care. It shows in how we listen to communities, how we measure impact, and how we turn findings into meaningful change. Behind every chart, every report, every recommendation — is a heart that wants to do better for someone else.
Valentine’s Day reminds us that behind every statistic is a story. Behind every number, a name. And behind every research project, a purpose — to make lives better, brighter, and more just.
So today, I want to thank each and every one of you. Thank you for bringing heart to the work we do. For ensuring our findings lead to fairness. For using research as a bridge — not just between knowledge and action, but between people and possibilities.
Let’s continue to let empathy guide our inquiries, love shape our learning, and purpose fuel our progress.
Happy Valentine’s Day, SayPro. Let’s keep leading with both evidence and heart.
With appreciation,
[Patricia Tsebe]
Chief Research Officer
