Esteemed guests, members of SayPro leadership, dedicated partners, fellow committee members, and above all—our cherished nurses, I greet you with warmth and deep admiration.
Today, we stand united to celebrate National Nurses Day 2025, a day set aside to recognize those whose hands heal, whose hearts uplift, and whose daily acts of courage often go unseen but never unfelt. As the Deputy Secretary of the SayPro Royal Committee, I speak on behalf of an institution that proudly upholds the cultural, social, and moral responsibility to preserve the legacies of those who serve our people.
Our nurses, from urban hospitals to remote rural clinics, are the unshakable foundation of healthcare. They are not just workers within the system—they are the heartbeat of compassion, the voice of strength, and the face of dignity in times of vulnerability.
Through our collaboration with the SayPro Centre for Medical Resources (CMR), we have seen first-hand how nurses go beyond duty. They carry not only tools, but wisdom. Not only knowledge, but kindness. And not only strength, but deep, enduring empathy.
As the Royal Committee’s Deputy Secretary, I see it as my duty to ensure that the efforts of nurses are not only supported—but properly recorded, recognized, and remembered. Nurses must not only be thanked—they must be celebrated in the annals of our history.
Let me say clearly: Nurses are not forgotten. You are seen. You are valued. You are remembered.
In a world that often rushes past quiet service, we pause today to say thank you. You are the reason communities survive. You are the reason many still hope.
